The Controller, under Article 4, paragraph 1, no. 7, and Article 24 of the GDPR, i.e., the person who determines the purposes and means of the processing, is Beta Utensili S.p.A. In accordance with Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Beta Utensili S.p.A. (hereinafter, the Controller), provides the following information relating to cookies installed on the www.beta-tools.com domain (hereinafter, the Website) or from other domains accessible through the Website.
What are cookies?
Cookies are strings of text created by a server and stored on the hard disk of the computer or
on any device used by the User to access the Internet (smartphone, tablet), and then retransmitted when the User
again accesses the Internet.
Cookies make it possible to collect information on the browsing carried out by the User on the Website.
Cookies can be stored permanently on the User's computer and have a variable duration (so-called persistent
cookies), but they can also disappear when the browser is closed or have a limited duration (so-called session
cookies).
Cookies can be installed by the Website you are visiting (first-party cookies) or they can be installed by
other websites (third-party cookies) and are used to perform computer authentication, session monitoring and storage
of information regarding the activities of users accessing a website.

According to current Italian legislation, a User’s explicit acceptance of cookies is not
required if they are identified as technical, i.e., aimed exclusively at the transmission of a communication over an
electronic communication network.
The Guidelines on Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies issued on 10 June 2021 by the Italian Data Protection
Authority identify two macro-categories of cookies:
- technical cookies, used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication on an electronic
communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service
explicitly requested by the contracting party or user to provide such service” (see Article 122, paragraph 1, of
Legislative Decree No. 196/2003, updated by Legislative Decree No. 101/2018).
- profiling cookies, used to link specific actions or recurring behavioural patterns in the use of the functions
offered (patterns) to specific identified or identifiable subjects, so as to group the various profiles within
homogeneous clusters of different sizes, so that the owner can, among other things, modulate the provision of the
service in an increasingly personalized manner beyond what is strictly necessary to provide the service, and send
targeted advertising messages, i.e., in line with the preferences expressed by the user when surfing the web.

Browsing and functionality cookies
The Controller uses browsing and functionality cookies on the Website to allow the User a safe and efficient browsing and use of the Website as well as to improve the service provided by the Website itself.
Analytical cookies
The Controller uses third-party analytical cookies on the Website to collect information on the use of the Website by Users (number of visitors, pages visited, time spent on the Website, conversions, etc.).
Social networks cookies
The Controller uses third-party cookies allowing Users to interact with social networks. More specifically, the Website has social plug-ins for Facebook, Linkedin etc. These plug-ins do not set up a cookie, but if one is already present on the Website User's computer, they are able to read and use it according to the relevant settings. The collection and use of information by such third parties is governed by their privacy policy, which one should refer to and review.
Profiling cookies
The Controller uses profiling cookies to link specific actions or recurring behavioural patterns in the use of the functions offered (patterns) to specific identified or identifiable subjects, so as to group the various profiles within homogeneous clusters of different sizes, so that it is possible to send targeted advertising messages, i.e., in line with the preferences expressed by the User when surfing the web.

2. Managing cookie preferences
When accessing any page of the Website, there is a banner “Cookies Settings” containing a brief information notice and "active buttons" to allow the user to choose the settings he/she prefers, with reference to the cookies’ purpose of use as well as to the Controller’s partners. The consent to the use of cookies is recorded with a technical cookie. Users can always change their choices through the "active buttons".
3. Browsing and functionality cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of the Website and can only be disabled by objecting to their registration. The modalities offered by the main browsers for disabling cookies is shown below:
However, after this operation, the Website may not be accessible or some services or functions may not be available or may not function properly.
4. Social networks and profiling cookies
In accordance with the Italian data protection legislation, the User's prior consent is required for the use of social and profiling cookies. Therefor, when accessing any page of the Website, a banner briefly informs the User on how to accept cookies. To inhibit social network and profiling cookies, the User can use the aforementioned disabling methods provided by their browser or explicitly deny consent to their use by clicking on the relevant option and confirming the preference.
5. Communication and disclosure of data
Your personal data are not subject to disclosure or transfer.
Communication to third parties, other than the Controller and Processors - in house or external to the Company
- identified and appointed in accordance with Articles 24 and 28 of the GDPR, is provided for where necessary.
In any event, the processing by third parties will be carried out in accordance with the principles of
fairness, proportionality and necessity, as well as in compliance with the applicable legal provisions.
The data collected using cookies may be processed by the Controller’s employees and independent contractors, in
their capacity as authorised persons and processors.
These data may also be processed by companies trusted by the Controller to carry out tasks of a technical and
organisational nature on its behalf. These companies are direct collaborators of the Controller and act as
Processors.
Data collected using cookies will not be disclosed.
6. Rights
Please note that, in accordance with Article 13, paragraph 2, letter b) of the GDPR, in
relation to the processing of personal data in question, to ensure a fair and transparent processing, the following
rights may be exercised
6.1. Right of information and access (under Article 15 of the GDPR): to obtain information from the Controller
on the existence or otherwise of data processing concerning you as well as access to your personal data and
information on the purposes of the processing and the recipients or categories of recipients to whom the data are
transmitted.
6.2. Right to rectification (under Article 16 of the GDPR), erasure (under Article 17 of the GDPR) and
restriction (under Article 18 of the GDPR): to request from the Controller the rectification and erasure of your
personal data and the restriction of processing.
6.3. Right to portability (under Article 20 of the GDPR): to receive the personal data concerning you
that you provided to the Controller in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to have the right
to transmit such data to another controller, provided that such operation is technically feasible.
6.4. Right to object (under Article 21 of the GDPR): to object to the processing of your data.

7. Right to lodge a complaint or an appeal
In accordance with Article 13, paragraph 2, letter d) of the GDPR and Article 140 bis of Legislative Decree No. 196/2003, as amended by Legislative Decree No. 101/2018, it is also represented that, if it is considered that the data processing violates the European Regulation or the Italian Personal Data Protection Code, a complaint may be lodged with the Italian supervisory authority [Garante privacy], in accordance with Article 77 of the GDPR or, alternatively, an appeal may be lodged with the Judicial Authority.
8. Withdrawal of consent
Consent may be withdrawn at any time, without giving reasons, by using the banner “Cookies Settings” containing a brief information notice and "active buttons" to allow the user to choose the settings he/she prefers. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of the processing that was based on the same consent before its withdrawal.
