(Tax Code and VAT number: 09321470966); contact details: registered office in Sovico (MB), 20845, Via Volta n. 18 - Tel. 003903920771; e-mail address: privacy@beta-tools.com .

In accordance with Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Beta Utensili S.p.A. (hereinafter, the Controller), provides the following information relating to cookies installed on the www.beta-tools.com domain (hereinafter, the Website) or from other domains accessible through the Website.

What are cookies?

Cookies are strings of text created by a server and stored on the hard disk of the computer or on any device used by the User to access the Internet (smartphone, tablet), and then retransmitted when the User again accesses the Internet.
Cookies make it possible to collect information on the browsing carried out by the User on the Website.
Cookies can be stored permanently on the User's computer and have a variable duration (so-called persistent cookies), but they can also disappear when the browser is closed or have a limited duration (so-called session cookies).
Cookies can be installed by the Website you are visiting (first-party cookies) or they can be installed by other websites (third-party cookies) and are used to perform computer authentication, session monitoring and storage of information regarding the activities of users accessing a website.
Cookies are divided according to their purpose into:

  • Browsing and functionality cookies: used respectively for authentication purposes and to improve the User experience (e.g., storing language preferences);
  • Analytical cookies: used by the Website operator to collect information on users visiting the Website (e.g., pages visited, time spent, number of visitors);
  • Profiling cookies: used for advertising purposes to send messages in line with user preferences collected while surfing the web;
  • Social networks cookies: used to allow interaction with social networks (Facebook, Linkedin...) and to share the content of the Website via social networks.

According to current Italian legislation, a User’s explicit acceptance of cookies is not required if they are identified as technical, i.e., aimed exclusively at the transmission of a communication over an electronic communication network. The Guidelines on Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies issued on 10 June 2021 by the Italian Data Protection Authority identify two macro-categories of cookies:

- technical cookies, used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication on an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the contracting party or user to provide such service” (see Article 122, paragraph 1, of Legislative Decree No. 196/2003, updated by Legislative Decree No. 101/2018).
- profiling cookies, used to link specific actions or recurring behavioural patterns in the use of the functions offered (patterns) to specific identified or identifiable subjects, so as to group the various profiles within homogeneous clusters of different sizes, so that the owner can, among other things, modulate the provision of the service in an increasingly personalized manner beyond what is strictly necessary to provide the service, and send targeted advertising messages, i.e., in line with the preferences expressed by the user when surfing the web.
