The range of Beta pullers includes two-jaw pullers, three-jaw pullers, hydraulic pullers, internal expansion pullers, pullers and separators, special pullers, hydraulic jacks and pullers for broken screws and studs.
The puller is a tool specifically designed and manufactured to enable the removal of mechanical components fitted onto shafts or within housings.
The extraction of bearings, bushings and other mechanical parts presents few problems when the fit has not yet been affected by wear and tear. Matters become more complicated when wear, oxidation and overheating of the material subjected to operation inevitably cause dimensional changes. These are minimal variations, but sufficient to cause the coupling to become completely seized. At this stage, simply using a puller is not enough to remove the part without risking further damage; it is necessary to subject it to vibrations, heating and the action of solvent liquids to free the parts that have become immobilised due to deformation or oxide deposits.
Ultimately, care and experience are required; without them, such a massive tool – seemingly indestructible and suited to heavy-duty work – will sustain damage without achieving the desired result.
Primarily intended for industrial maintenance, Beta extractors are also used in car repairs. They are robust tools characterised, by design, by the rigidity of their body. In other words, wherever possible, joints and lever mechanisms have been avoided in favour of greater linearity and simplicity of construction, which ensure greater reliability in use. This proves particularly advantageous in models with three or more arms, as it allows loads to be distributed evenly across all the claws simultaneously.
